What To Expect When Partnering with Clearview Veterinary Imaging
At Clearview Veterinary Imaging, we know medical imaging can feel overwhelming for pet parents. Our goal is to make the process as smooth, transparent, and stress-free as possible, for both you and your pet. From the moment you arrive for your appointment to the follow-up you’ll receive through your veterinarian, you can trust that your pet is in skilled and caring hands.
What to Expect
When you arrive for your pet's ultrasound at our Saratoga Springs facility, our front desk team will welcome you, check you in, confirm your information, and have you complete a short consent form.
A licensed technician or assistant will then bring your pet to the ultrasound room while you relax in our lounge with complimentary snacks and beverages. A small area of fur on your pet’s belly will be shaved for clear imaging. Some nervous or tense pets may need light sedation to help them relax. During the exam, your pet will rest comfortably on a padded table or trough.
Ultrasounds typically take 20–30 minutes. Once complete, you’ll meet with Dr. Ryan in a private consultation room to review the results, ask questions, and discuss next steps such as additional testing or treatment.
Most appointments, from check-in to consultation, are finished in under an hour. A detailed written report will be sent to your primary care veterinarian within 24 hours. Echocardiogram results also include a cardiologist’s written consultation, available within 3–5 business days.
If your pet’s care team determines that additional imaging, such as endoscopy or a CT scan, is needed, these procedures are scheduled through our local specialty hospital. Dr. Ryan also performs ultrasounds at Veterinary Specialties Referral Center, if their hospital is more convenient for you. At the specialty hospital, you can expect advanced equipment, a team of specialists, and a longer visit depending on the procedure. The hospital staff will explain preparation instructions (such as fasting before an endoscopy or anesthesia for a CT scan) and walk you through the recovery process.
Your primary veterinarian plays a key role in guiding your pet’s diagnostic journey. They are the one who will receive and review the Dr. Ryan’s report from Clearview, then explain what the results mean for your pet’s health and treatment plan. They remain your main point of contact and partner in ensuring your pet gets the care they need.
