Christopher Ryan, VMD, DACVR

Veterinarian

Dr. Christopher Ryan brings a wealth of experience and specialized training to every imaging study he performs. He earned his bachelor’s degree in general biology from Cornell University and his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.

Dr. Ryan began his veterinary career in equine medicine, completing a rigorous internship at the world-renowned Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He spent five years in equine ambulatory practice at the University of Pennsylvania and in private practice in upstate New York. Following his growing interest in diagnostic imaging, Dr. Ryan completed a small animal internship at Redbank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey before returning to the University of Pennsylvania for a three-year residency in diagnostic imaging. He became a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (DACVR) in 2013.

Dr. Ryan enjoys all aspects of diagnostic imaging, including ultrasound, CT, MRI, and general radiography. His clinical interests include:

  • Advanced imaging of central nervous system disorders
  • CT and ultrasound for oncologic conditions
  • Sports medicine imaging in canine and equine athletes
  • Image-guided interventional procedures to improve diagnostic and surgical success while minimizing invasiveness

He has authored scientific articles and book chapters in both small and large animal fields and regularly lectures at regional and local continuing education conferences on diagnostic imaging topics.

Outside of work, Dr. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and their “squad” of French bulldogs, as well as exploring the outdoors in the Adirondack Mountains.

Nicole Battista

LVT

Nicole is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Bell-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. Over the years, she’s built an impressive skill set spanning urgent care, emergency & critical care, general practice, internal medicine, medical radiation, and reproduction. Her favorite areas of focus include ultrasound, patient care, client education, and canine reproduction—which she even runs her own LLC for!

What Nicole loves most about Clearview is practicing “the good medicine” in a healthy, supportive environment where positivity makes all the difference.

At home, Nicole has what can only be described as a small menagerie: Charlie the Terrier mix, Sweetie the Lab, Walter, Noelle, Zara, Fig, and Magnolia the French Bulldogs, Leo the domestic longhair, Hazel the tabby/torti, and a lively flock of chickens.

When she’s not caring for animals, Nicole stays busy raising her two kids, hiking, cooking (and eating) good food, going to music festivals, and spending time with family and friends. She jokes that she’s the real-life Forrest Gump—because somehow, she knows people all over the world.

Kassondra Cook

LVT

Kassondra is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who began her veterinary journey at Alfred State College, earning her degree in Veterinary Technology. She is currently furthering her education by pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree in Adolescent Education and English at Siena University.

With experience in general practice, urgent care, and emergency & critical care, Kassondra brings a well-rounded skill set to Clearview. She especially enjoys client education, working with exotic pets (excluding pocket pets), cytology and laboratory services, and animal behavior.

Kassondra values the close-knit atmosphere at Clearview, where the small, supportive team fosters strong relationships and a positive work environment. She especially appreciates the encouragement of her coworkers—and, most importantly, Dr. Ryan.

Outside of work, Kassondra is a proud pet mom to Diesy, her sun-loving American Staffordshire Terrier; Buggy, her dog-like domestic longhair cat; and Emmie & Harlow, her spirited sister cats she rescued from a farm.

When she’s not caring for pets, Kassondra enjoys playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom, reading, graphic design, field hockey, and learning new things. She also has a special talent as an “animal matchmaker”—having successfully found forever homes for five cats and one dog.

Hope Corlew

Veterinary Assistant

Hope has been working in veterinary medicine since 2006 and brings a wealth of experience to the Clearview team. Over the years, she’s worn many hats—including receptionist, emergency and critical care veterinary assistant, surgical assistant, and ultrasound assistant—always with a steady hand and a big heart. Her favorite areas of focus are ultrasound and surgery, where she plays a key role in helping pets get the care they need.

What Hope loves most about her work is being part of such a compassionate and dedicated team. She’s especially grateful to contribute to the diagnostic process, helping pet parents better understand what’s going on with their furry family members and guiding them toward the best next steps.

At home, Hope cares for two very special cats, Jynx and Josiah, both adopted after being rescued as strays who survived head trauma. When she’s not in the clinic, you can usually find her reading, hiking, traveling, or exploring museums.

Vanessa Wilcox

Office Manager & Veterinary Assistant

Vanessa brings over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, with 13 of those years dedicated to emergency and critical care. For the past 8 years, she’s worked closely with Dr. Ryan in Radiology, where her passion for ultrasound and diagnostics really shines. She also has a talent for connecting with clients, helping to create a calm and supportive environment for both pets and their families.

What Vanessa loves most about her work is the incredible team she’s part of—and the shared dedication to providing the best care possible.

At home, she enjoys the company of her rescue dog, Roscoe, a happy boy who brightens every day. Outside of veterinary life, Vanessa has a unique background in raising dairy goats and once made soaps, lotions, and cheeses from her herd. These days, when she’s not at the clinic, you can often find her at the bowling alley, where she enjoys competing.

Amber Mothon

Veterinary Assistant

Amber is currently pursuing her degree in Veterinary Science Technology at Ashworth College while working as an emergency and critical care assistant. Her passion lies in patient care, making sure every pet she helps feels safe and well cared for.

What Amber enjoys most about her work is the supportive team environment—being surrounded by people who share the same love and dedication to animals makes every day rewarding.

At home, Amber’s furry family keeps her busy and smiling. She has Daisy, a sweet pup she adopted at 3 years old, along with her two cats: Bodhi, the spunky senior of the house, and Ziti, a lovable orange tabby.

When she’s not working or studying, Amber enjoys reading, spending time with her pets, and making memories with family.
